5 Awesome Ways to Build Backlinks

Recently Brandon got on 1st page for make money blogging keyword, so i thought it would be great to share some ways to build backlinks.

It is all about building nice and quality backlinks to your blog or website. In search engine optimization (SEO), page rank is at least partially determined by the number of sites that link to yours.

Here are 5 awesome ways to build backlinks

1. Squidoo

Create a Squidoo page for your website or blog you like. Also include links to your website. It is great for creating solid links to your other Squidoo lenses because of the love that Google and other search engines shows Squidoo. When you create your content on either a Squidoo lens, you need to make sure that you are targeting the people who would want to read it. I’m using squidoo from last 3-4 months and it is really working great for me. Actually, it is one of the best way to build high quality backlinks fast.

2. Article Directories

If I have not met Alex ( then I never thought of building backlinks from article directories. I only use article directories to backlinks for my niche sites. My favorites are eZineArticles and GoArticles.

3. Social Bookmarking sites

These days social media is very popular source of backlinks. Create good content on your website, and submit to social bookmarking sites. Create good content on your website, other members will eventually bookmark you and you’ll get a free backlink. This is one of my favorite way of building high quality effective backlinks.

4. Guest Blogging

Do you know i’m building backlinks by writing this guest post. Actually guest blogging is another great way to get backlinks. It will also help you to grow your blog and build relationship with author of a blog.

Here are 4 Reasons why you should do Guest Posting.

  1. Drive targeted traffic.
  2. Build relationship with other bloggers.
  3. Increase your brand awareness
  4. Build Backlinks to your blog.

5. Blog Commenting

Blog Commenting is one of the things that I do really well, and have been doing this for months to build backlinks and develop community at the same time.

Lastly, is there anything you find something to disagree with in this post or have an opinion on this topic? Please leave us a comment below πŸ™‚

Article directories is an often overlooked way to building backlinks. It’s actually a pretty good way to have residual backlinks out there. Also, some article directories allow for re-publishing of your articles with the author bio information. So when others republish the articles you’ve submitted, they are actually propagating your backlinks as well.

    Hi Devesh

You have covered the topic well. I enjoy blog commenting the most and it was only when Alex told me it built backlinks I even knew that was what I was doing lol Being a newbie and not knowing about techie stuff I was just enjoying commenting so was a real suprprise to learn this. I have now begun guest posting and enjoyed doing my first guest post. Have been invited to do several others following that one guest post. Like you say, get to meet other bloggers haven’t met before. Thanks for sharing Devesh.

    Hey Dev:

Great post and great ideas. Congrats on getting on page 1 of Google for “make more money blogging”.

I only use 3 out of the 5 you mention. I do not do much with article marketing (mainly because I’m lazy when it comes to writing articles) and I have yet to do any guest posting (I’ve not really asked anyone…yet).

I really do love the power of Squidoo. I have been using Squidoo for several years.

    Take care and Happy Holidays!

  29. Devesh – All 5 of these methods are great ways to build backlinks. I personally utilize all of them instead of and guest blogging.

Instead of squidoo I use blogger or wordpress, but squidoo is also great. I haven’t decided to start guess blogging yet but I think I will start very soon.

I love blog commenting because I get a chance to read great articles such as this one and share my thoughts. It’s definitely a win win situation.

  40. This is perfect idea. All of these are really helpful for building backlinks for your site. I am doing this for almost a year and it really helps a lot. And I just want to add the directory submission, I love doing this it gives more backlinks to your site when you put good contents and keywords and then submit to directories. Have you ever tried it before?

  41. Social bookmarking and blog commenting is the easiest way for me. I am doing this daily, and I can see the results and I am really satisfied. But of course, when you do different SEO strategies like listed above. You can gain more traffic. I am glad you posted this one.

  47. Blog commenting is a great way of link building but I considered as the most hard way. You really need to read too many before you comment but the best part is you drive traffic to your site and then make friends online at the same.

  48. Interesting post. Good insights. With blog commenting, you’re not only build a reputation for yourself but you’ll also get the chance to get involved in adding value to your community. You also have the chance to build a network and learn a lot of things. Most of all it adds backlinks to your blog as well.

  51. That’s a pretty comprehensive list and I would not add much more to that. The best links come from pages you make on web 2.0 article sites (like hubpages etc), if you write a useful article the page will gain some PR from google and your in content links will be worth a lot more than links that are easier to get… plus they will stay there for a long time.

Posted on 22-Jan-11 at 6:12 pm | Permalink
  52. Although, all five are perfect ways to build backlinks but my personal favorites are blog commenting and guest blogging. Blog commenting is not only about getting backlinks but you can also keep yourself updated about the latest techniques and topics in discussion on blogs. Similarly, Guest blogging is a great way to find some loyal followers!!
