Are You Over-Using Video in Your Blog Posts?
Mar 1st
I have been finding a lot of blogs these days that post videos. Normally, that’s not an issue. However, when video becomes your entire blog post, you can almost guarantee that you will lose readers. I mean, you can’t really be a reader if you are watching a video now can you?
The reason for my distaste for that blogging style is that I often listen to music while I blog hop and read articles. If I am trying to listen to something else, why would I pause it to see what you are talking about?

How Amazon & I Just Got Screwed by State Government
Jan 6th
Just 5 minutes ago, I received an email from Amazon. To my surprise, it was an email informing me that thanks to the Illinois Government, Amazon will likely terminate my associates account. The reason? A new tax scheme that basically aims to eliminate affiliate programs. See the details here.
Note that if my Governor decides to be stupid and sign this (as he most likely will because he’s stupid), then I will lose a revenue source. What’s next? Clickbank?
This kind of crap makes me want to build a spaceship and leave this forsaken planet of ignorant asses who think they can control More >
Are You Following Inexperienced Advice?
Dec 19th
An article I read today rehashed an issue I argued against on another blog a couple months ago. That issue being that content is not king. I instantly get into these debates because I find that the person writing about them is promoting disinformation which goes against everything I teach on this blog. What upsets me more is the amount of people who comment on those articles thanking the writers for “sharing the truth”.
My argument that content is king is that without content, you have nothing. But it isn’t as simple as that, and people need to stop making these generalizations More >
Help a Person in Need… Firefighters Won’t!
Oct 6th
I was inspired to write this post because of a Yahoo! News article I read late last night when I should have been sleeping. But the title of that article just caught my eye because it made me think I was in Iran or some other 3rd world country where people don’t understand what civilized means.
The article in question? It was about a guy in Tennessee who’s house caught on fire. When he called 911, the firefighters refused to come and put out the fire because the homeowner didn’t pay a required $75 fee ahead of time for their services. More >
Rant: My Latest Blogging Annoyance
Aug 22nd
I only posted this rant as a last resort. At first, I thought that maybe I was just coming across a few bloggers who didn’t know better. But then I realized that I was running into them on a regular basis. The offenders? Blogs that only post reviews and affiliate hype posts.
Any of my readers know that I rarely post reviews or posts specifically generated to sell affiliate offers. Why? Because I actually value my readers and their time. With that said, I am tired of coming across blogs that post nothing but reviews and updates about their “coaching class” More >
When McDonalds Tells You That It’s Breakfast and You Can’t Have Lunch Items
Aug 11th
Ok. Now I can honestly say that I wanted to do this at times. This girl actually did it. Maybe McDonalds will get the hint and just give people what they want from now on.
Note: there is no sound. I thought something happened with my audio driver at first. Then I realized this was a security camera and it most likely had no sound. I verified that by reports.
UPDATE: They removed the video. It was a security camera in a McDonalds drive-through and the woman who drove up wanted chicken nuggets. The girl at the window refused because it was More >
Major Turn-Offs From a Professional Bloggers Point of View
Jun 29th
Wow, it has been a crazy couple of weeks. After the contest winners announcement and the release of my new ebook (free when you sign-up for my free newsletter), I am now into the full-swing of things here. I will probably even be blogging multiple times per day again. I just wanted to write this one because there are a few things that just turn me off as a professional blogger.
I do this on a full time basis, so consider that I don’t really vent very much outside of the house. Excuse my occasional rants, but I find them to More >

I didn’t want to post this, but I felt at this point that I had no choice. For my regulars, this has nothing to do with you so no worries. But for others, I have to warn you that you are wasting your time spamming this blog with keywords.
What encouraged me to write this warning was a few comments, one after the other, that got past my anti-spam tactics. They weren’t published, but they got into my moderation queue.
The fact is that the person in question was an actual person and not a bot of any kind. That’s the only More >
