This is my first update the indiegogo project I started in order to create a new charity to feed, shelter, and educate the homeless. So far, I have 1 contribution. That one contribution was from someone that has personally seen how the homeless live and wanted to take action to help me reach my goal. I have a $200,000 goal and less than 60 days to get there.
I am a little unnerved that the campaign has been live for almost 5 days and I am getting little action on this. The campaign has been shared with hundreds of Facebook friends, thousands of Facebook users, thousands of Twitter users during a bunch of tweets, Google+ users, you name it…it has been done. It makes me wonder…does anyone care about the homeless?

I am asking my vast amount of rss and newsletter subscribers to help me by contributing…even if all you can do is $10. The more momentum I get on this campaign, the better chance it can be featured on the indiegogo homepage and receive lots more exposure.
I also ask you to share share share! If you tweet, please use the #indiehomeless hashtag and direct it to @Brandon_Connell.
Remember, we have a chance to get the homeless off of the streets for good by providing them with an education in business, computers, and finance. Many of the homeless do not have these skills so they do not know that they can be earning money online even while they are homeless! What if someone taught them how to start a business while they were in the shelter? What if they had the computers and other basic needs for running that business from the shelter? They would get on their feet for good!
Stop by and contribute http://www.indiegogo.com/lets-help-the-homeless and then share for me on ALL of your social networks please!

Well, I am from Turkey and there are a lot of homeless people on the streets there. Nobody cares about them then they usually fail to survive. Now, I live in United States. When I see the homeless people here I got very surprised. I wasnt really expecting to see that. It is because I always thought in Us they wont let people to live like that. But, it seems like people are people. They are the same everywhere. I am very glad that you started something like this.

Hi. I started it, but I need help to finish it. So far, I haven’t gotten a lot of contributions, shares, or comments on the campaign page. Without those things, the campaign won’t be successful.

Hello, Brandon. I’m from Romania, and here are many homeless but no one helps them. They rarely receive free meals at city hall and that’s just on celebrate. Good luck in what you do and I hope to succeed. I share your post!
Nobody cares !!anymore!! That is a big difference. In here we have becomed uncarrying cause the homeless themselves don’t care about them. They have been given the opportunity to live in a shelter, to have food, a bed to sleep in, and they don’t like it, they are running out of there. That is why I don’t feel sorry anymore for them!

That’s the dumbest shit I ever heard. Why would someone LIKE living in a homeless shelter? Did you even think before you wrote?
Even though people tend to help each other I believe that the current economical climate doesn’t encourage people to give to the homeless anymore. People are poor themselves.
In some countries homeless people are homeless because of their own fault. They are addicted to alcohol or drugs and they just sold everything they got. In general, people lose their roof under different circumstances.
I agree with Brandon, no one likes to be a homeless person. It’s sad..
I am not agree with you @Patrick. You are blaming some country’s people for this specific faults. I do not really know which countries are in your mind but I would like to remind you that this kind of people presents in every country. In every country there are people who gamble, addicted to drugs, alcohol and at a time they loose everything they have. But this is not the major reason for being homeless. This may be a minor. I don’t think it is even 1%. Natural disasters are one of major reason for people being homeless. Some government actions can be a reason for that.

This is a good move to help others who are also in need. We are also facilitating a project in helping those who were badly hit by flood and storm and other calamities. I hope a lot of people will support our project.
Hi, i think this is for such a good cause and i feel lucky to connect with you. Its not a small problem its a huge and infront of all over the world. We have to help these people and also make try to them happy. Thanks for this post.
Brandon, I wouldn’t rely only on internet to gather funds. There is a lot of scam out there and people might hold back because of fear of being fooled. I’d suggest using traditional methods as well like local communities. churches and newspapers.
In the UK the homeless issue is slightly strange, many people pretend to be homeless because they make more money busking on the street than they could working, this leads to mis-trust and also not helping out those who really are homeless and in need of some support, this has to change!
You are 100% mostly people ignore charity but it is wrong we need to support them. Because they are also our brothers and sisters.
