How Ritalin Made Me a Better Blogger
Just a couple of years ago, I decided to pursue a treatment for ADD which I have had for years. Actually, when I was less fat and more teenager, I had ADHD and was always moving. Now I am mostly lazy and just can’t pay attention well. But the reason for me seeking treatment was my wonderful fiance at the time.
I had some issues with attention, and getting things done at home. My focus was killing my relationship and I needed change right away. What I didn’t expect was for Ritalin to make me so focused that I increased my internet income by thousands. I literally went from $15,000 per year to over $40,000 during the year I started taking my prescription meds. On top of that, I was able to actually research and write so well that my first medicated application for editing at DMOZ was approved on my birthday. I was ecstatic!
Nowadays, I find myself better engaging when I am medicated and focused. When I am not taking my pills, I am less inclined to comment on other blogs, or keep commenting with good conversation. I also find myself better able to do tedious tasks like hand submitted directory listings. These are all key pieces of building a successful blog.
I did not write this article to get you to go seek medication (unless you need it). I am writing this to ask you how well your focus is. Can you tell the difference between this article post and the ones from the last few days? I wasn’t medicated then. I just remembered to take my pill. The difference is my ability to write engaging content, and to participate on others.
Have a good look at your focus right now, and ask yourself if you are willing to focus at least 1 hour per day researching and writing an article, and an extra hour of marketing will help greatly. With focus and determination, you can be the next millionaire blogger.

Wow. What an admission! Good for you!
Let’s see, I also have ADD and supposed to take Adderall XR, so I know exactly what you’re talking about.
The days I take it – I’m actually organized, busy, goal oriented, positive and focused.
The days I don’t take it – I sleep for 10 – 15 hours, have dizzy spells, and feel confused.
I try to go about 4 days without it because of the side effects. It messes with my central nervous system making my skin feel like it’s burning, I run a slight fever, my eye has a nervous twitch, adult acne, nausea and I bite the inside of my lip. I know, gross.
Well, I’ve spent days reading forums about Adderall XR. These are normal side effects. I’ve spoken with my doctor and pharmacist. They’ve talked about taking me of the XR and maybe take 2 tablets a day. Honestly, the reason I haven’t is because I don’t want to be on this stuff for life. I haven’t read about anyone that takes it for life.
Only you, or anyone else to takes it, understands the mental debate about this.

Thank you. I usually don’t hide personal info. You should see my wife blush when I mention sex in public.
So, do you take it everyday? Any negative side effects?

I WAS taking it every day for over a year without side effects. I dropped the ball on it though and just started taking it again. I believe I will remain on it for a very long time.
No problems in the ummm, errr, uhh bedroom?
