How to Make $1,000 a Month With CPA

I have a friend right now attempting to make $1,000 per month with cpa (cost per action) using MaxBounty and I thought it was a good idea for me to create a series tutorial showing you how to do this.

For reference, I am going to be doing this using absolutely no money for the site development, hosting, or marketing. I will be doing this in my spare time as well, which will show you that it can be done even if you have a full time job.

To start out the series, I created a free blog on WordPress.com and inserted some CPA ads, and a small starting article review. You can see the first CPA site at http://freeblackberrystuff.wordpress.com/ (note: wordpress.com is touchy and your website may not be there for long because of their dumb TOS, but you can use other free hosts. Do a google search for “free php hosting” and you will find lots of them that will even give you free ftp access and a sub-domain).

free blackberry stuff

The CPA I am using on this site ranges from $1.60 to $2.80. These are not huge conversions, but with traffic and numbers, the goal is to make a little under $40 per day using only CPA. This is equal to an 8 hour a day job for 5 days a week making below minimum wage.

If you want to follow along, you will need to get yourself a MaxBounty account. I just ask that you write your own articles and don’t rip mine. I don’t care if you go after the same ads or whatever. Just don’t steal my text.

First, check out my site that I mentioned above. See how I set it up with a basic theme that was there when I signed up for an account with WordPress. Notice I placed some cpa ads in widgets in the sidebar and footer. There is absolutely nothing complicated about this.

I will be updating this site here and there until I get it how I want it. I will start marketing it tonight via blog hopping and article marketing. I will also submit it to tons of directories. I have a list that I use, but for this project, you can use a good list I found at http://addurl.nu/ (this link goes to the wayback machine version because the domain was down the day after I wrote this).

Once I get the basic edits done to the website, and get some marketing done, I will post here again with an update and my next plan of action. If you are joining me, I wish you luck.

  1. When did WP.com start allowing affiliate marketing type stuff?

When did they not? I have never had an issue.

  3. Lucky you, it’s quite prominent in their TOS…or it was.

Either way, no big deal. WordPress.com is not exclusive to this campaign. As you will see, the campaign will require many different sites which will go on different free hosts.

I always start from the beginning, and answer questions that may sound stupid but are necessary for the beginner. It’s like programming books. So many of them assume you get the basic concepts of the language, when as a beginner you actually want to know what the hell the semicolon goes there for.

Hi Brandon, that looks like a great way to start. There’s one thing I don’t get though and that’s how the banner ads work. They all seem to point to an internal link on the WP domain “en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/” and not to a CPA offer, it would seem. Maybe Dennis is onto something? Maybe I am not taking it all in and need to rest. Who knows.

    Cheers, Michael

Nope you’re right. It used to work, and I tried to get around it with a url shortener on my domain, but the links were invalid. I will change the host and update this post. No biggie 😉

Ok. I was able to get around the issue and stay on WordPress.com. I hosted the maxbounty images myself rather than using the html they gave me, and I used their contextual links, and used ninja affiliate to shorten them. Now the links work perfectly.

Just popping over to say hi, my time is my own now so I can return to visiting some of my fav blogs!

I have never tried cpa, but it does interest me, so if you do some updated posts that would be cool for people who dont have a clue about it aka me lol.

I am right on that Sally! Actually, I have to update this post a bit with the new info in a comment I made here. WordPress tries to block certain links, so I got around it with ninja affiliate and self-hosting banners. Sometimes you got to be tricky when going the free route. Although, WordPress.com isn’t the only game in town. There are literally TONS of free hosting servers around that are ad-free, and even give you ftp access. All you need is that, and a free sub-domain. Nothing special.

WOW that’s strange. I was just using them yesterday. Looks like their domain expired. You should be able to see all of the directories on that site through the wayback machine http://web.archive.org/ though.

    Hey Brandon:

I am really excited to follow along as you work towards making a $1000 with CPA marketing. I have not tried CPA marketing as of yet. I was just talking to someone the other day about CPA offers.

From have read over the years, it can be hard to get accepted by CPA networks. Is that still true today? If so, do you have any advice to help get accepted?

I have never had a problem getting accepted by a cpa network. The ones that verify you require that you have some experience with affiliate marketing or some kind of marketing in general. They don’t go and call references or anything like that. I believe the rumor of it being hard comes from people in countries like China or somewhere else, where a lot of cpa networks don’t operate due to high amounts of fraud.

Lazy Profits verifies you by calling your phone number and giving you a “code” to enter into the site. MaxBounty actually calls you and talks to you about your marketing experience. That’s it. Pretty simple.

No problem Rick. If you don’t contact them, I believe they are fast. I filled out the application at night, and they called me the next day. I don’t know if it is always that fast.

I’m not sure. I haven’t explored who does and who don’t because I have not personally been affected by that problem. A CPA network generally has that information in their FAQ though.

Thanks Max. I am actually making much more than that from internet marketing. CPA is just a small piece of money-making though. You can actually make money with any route (cpa, adsense, mlm, etc) with a little time and knowledge.

Great method Brandon. I am always amazed at how truly easy it is to make money with CPA, once you know the basics.

I dont mean to brag or anything, but I started learning about CPA last year. I went from knowing nothing (I didn’t even know what CPA stood for) to making around $2000 a month with MaxBounty. Of course, my blog ranking for a few big keywords helped to get some targeted traffic in front of those campaigns.

But. non the less, I started experimenting with a few blogspot blogs and I immediately stated seeing result, so I thought why not go all the way and thats what I did.

CPA is just fun. It can also be marketed through blog ads. For example, the banner ad spaces here on my blog. You can also advertise them through buysellads, as it is allowed in their terms of use.
