Making Money Online: PART 1

This is part 1 to a series of blog posts about making money online. I can’t write everything down into a single post because it might not keep reader interest if too long.

I have been working for myself since 2002. I started with an ecommerce store, and graduated to an seo company. After a couple of years doing seo, I added web design and other related services to my offerings. At the same time, I was learning leverage and used it in my everyday lifestyle. This included bartering for vacations that I could otherwise not afford. When my computer broke down, I would barter for a new laptop or desktop. When I needed a ride, I would barter for a car. It didn’t take long for me to master my leveraging skills.

Making money online is pretty simple. Sometimes it is easier than other times. Making money might be as simple as offering a service and posting a single ad on a good day. Other days, it takes a lot of ad posting, responding, and calling people for referrals. Your goal is to be in the right place at the right time to meet the customer who is at the right place at the right time.

Other than offering services, I have multiple blogs and websites with adsense, clickbank, and other affiliate programs which add up. Even if you start off with an extra adsense income of $100 per month, it can come in handy when you have nothing. You need to consider the idea of multiple streams on income. If you already have a full or part time job, you can still offer a service or take part in affiliate programs to supplement your income. You can take the slow investment route of using the extra income and adding it to a TradeKing account. You can then get Tradeking technical alerts and buy stocks. An example would be the Martha Stewart stock which was alerted around $5 and went up to $7 approximately within a week or so. It will take awhile, but you can add a profit this way in the long run.

You can use referrals to get sales by networking. This can be done through social media, but I recommend doing it the old fashioned way of networking locally. You might meet someone at church or some other place where people gather. Pass around your business card, and when that person needs your service, they may remember you.

You can make some additional money by selling things. They can be things laying around your house that you don’t need. you can even find things being given away for free and selling them online. You can do this by going to the free section of Craigslist and responding to posts. I knew a guy in Chicago that has a used furniture company, and his entire inventory is obtained through the free section of Craigslist. I bartered with him in exchange for building an ecommerce store.

The possibilities are truly endless for making money online. As this series continues, I will post more ideas and elaborate on the ones I talked about here.
